Four illegal aliens and their two aides were detained in Transcarpathia

Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment, together with National Police officers, detained a group of foreigners who intended to reach the EU countries illegally, as well as their two compatriots who were assisting them.

A local resident reported to the district inspector of the department "Velyky Berezny" about two unknown persons near the border with Slovakia.

Additional border patrols were immediately sent to search for the offenders, one of which detained strangers on the outskirts of the village of Knyahynya. The detainees did not have any documents on them and said they were citizens of Tajikistan. They explained that they had illegally crossed the border from Slovakia to Ukraine to help their compatriots to get from Ukraine to EU countries also illegally.

During the follow-up search, law enforcement officers stopped on the highway near the border a car Opel with four Tajik citizens - a man, two women and a 12-year-old girl. The car was driven by a citizen of Ukraine, originally from Tajikistan.

In the course of the check-ups, law enforcement officers found out that the foreigners planned to meet their two compatriots at the border and illegally get to Slovakia.

The detainees were taken to the border guard unit to find out all the circumstances of the case.

The foreigners will be prosecuted under Article 210-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine "Illegal crossing or attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine" and Article 203 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Violation of the rules of staying in Ukraine and transit passage through the territory of Ukraine by foreigners and stateless persons."

In addition, the driver of the car who was driving the foreigners will be brought to justice for committing the offense under Article 206 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine “Violation of the procedure for providing foreigners and stateless persons with housing, vehicles and assistance in providing other services”.

As for the two citizens of Tajikistan who were detained first, operational and verification activities continue.
