In Transcarpathia, a man attacked a passerby and stole from him a gold chain

Officers of the Mukachevo criminal police caught the offender involved in robbery and theft in the district center. The crimes were committed by a 28-year-old local resident.  

It was established that late in the evening on Sorocha Street, the offender attacked a passerby and tore a gold chain with a pendant off of the victim's neck. The amount of damage amounted to more than 20 thousand hryvnias. 

Police found out that the attacker was involved in two more thefts from shops.

Investigators have already indicted the perpetrator of criminal offenses under Part 2 of Article 186 (robbery) and Part 2 of Article 185 (theft, repeated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. 

The court granted the investigator's request and remanded the suspect in custody. The police are preparing the necessary materials to take the case to court.

In addition, the Mukachevo City and District Court is considering a number of criminal proceedings on similar crimes committed by by the Mukachevo resident, the Communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police reported.
