The "migrating bus stop" has returned to its old place. But drivers and passengers do not know about it yet… (Photos)
The public transport stop "Poshtova Square" in Uzhgorod was recently moved again. It used to be under coniferous trees in the shade of the Uzhgorod post office building. But in 2017, it was moved closer to Zhupanatska Square and equipped with a new glass pavilion.
We do not know the reasons for that move. And although the new design was beautiful and modern, it had one major drawback: in summer heat, the glass could not save passengers from the scorching sun. Eventually, both drivers and passengers got used to it. Moreover, the sidewalk in this place was comfortable, very wide, the stop did not bother anyone, and the approach to it was convenient.
But last year, the construction of another shopping and office center began in the courtyard of the post office, a wide sidewalk turned into a narrow passage with this stop right in the middle of it. In addition, quite recently some sections of the glass roof were broken. The developer has long been asking the city authorities to return the stop to the old place.
And now, as we see in the photo, it has happened.
But there was one nuance: the pavilion was moved, but the relevant road signs were not. And now it is unclear where public transport should stop and where people can wait for it. It is inconvenient under the fence, because now there is no canopy and no benches. And buses can't even get to the new place - drivers are used to park their cars there. And it's hard to blame them - a real bus stop must be marked with appropriate signs.
