At the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs, a driver tried to bring to Ukraine a batch of branded clothes and shoes without paying customs duties. The 42-year-old resident of Cherkasy was returning home from Italy across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in a minibus Mercedes-Benz. During the customs control, he declared only used items in ten suitcases. However, when all the cargo was unloaded, customs officers found a suitcase with new clothes, shoes, lingerie and handbags from world famous brands: Jimmy Choo, Dolce Gabbana, Dior, Sant Laurent, Prada, Fendi and others. The man immediately admitted that abroad he had been asked by an unknown woman to deliver the suitcase to Ukraine at the specified address and that he did not know the contents of it.

A report on violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was drawn up against the man. The value of the branded clothes will be determined by an expert. The items that the man tried to bring to Ukraine without paying customs duties and most likely for commercial purposes were seized pending court decision. 8 pairs of shoes, 16 items of clothing, 5 handbags, purses and belts will be kept in the customs warehouse.
