A 40-year-old resident of Mukachevo, who works as a carrier for a Slovak company, was driving a bus to the Czech Republic across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. In the control zone of the customs post "Tisa", he was asked to fill in a declaration, in which he declared only personal belongings and denied carrying any hidden goods.
However, based on preliminary information received by the customs office from law enforcement agencies regarding the possible illegal transportation of hidden gemstones, it was decided to conduct an in-depth inspection of the bus with the help of a dog team.
Thus, a clever four-legged assistant named Ramsey, trained to search for amber, sniffed out hidden stones in a matter of minutes.
The found objects in the form of stones similar to amber in different fractions and colors were packaged in 15 plastic bags. The total weight of the detected stones is 111.200 kg.
Therefore, a report on violation of customs rules provided for in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was drawn up against the Transcarpathian.
The final value of the detected batch of amber will be determined by an expert. The value of the seized bus "EOS" model "100 COACH" was estimated at almost UAH 412 thousand
