A truck illegally trying to take out valuable acacia wood was detained at the Ukrainian-Slovak border, the Press Service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region reports.
According to the investigation, a private company, contrary to the law, tried to transport acacia lumber worth about 800,000 hryvnias across the state border. At the same time, the carrier entered false information on the type and quality of raw materials in the customs declaration.
The incident happened yesterday, August 3. At the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", officers of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region found a wholesale consignment of wood in a truck Renault.
Further investigative actions within the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 2 of Article 201-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are being carried out by investigators of the regional office of the Security Service of Ukraine. The Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region continues to provide procedural control.
