Transcarpathia is left without apricots and peaches: frosts wiped out future harvest

In Transcarpathian region, the March frosts completely wiped out the future harvest of early apricots and peaches. This was reported by the Director of the Department of Agroindustrial Development of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yuriy Lesio, the ukrinform.ua reported.

In the last days of March, there were 3-9°С frosts on the soil surface and in the air in Transcarpathia. Cold air proved to be detrimental to early-flowering fruits (apricot, peach) and completely wiped out the future harvest,” – the official said.

The official also noted that frosts were not critical for most other agricultural plants as the plants were in the initial stages of development.
