In Transcarpathia, the police detained a carrier of weapons and ammunition (PHOTOS)

The origin of the seized items and the purpose of keeping them will be investigated by the police. Investigators have sent the weapons and ammunition for the examination. 
According to the Communication Department of Transcarpathian Police, officers of the Rakhiv Police Department have documented the fact of illegal handling of weapons and ammunition. An investigation has been launched into the case. The seized items were sent for examination 
“Yesterday, May 3, at the post “Lazeshchyna” of Rakhiv district, officers of the patrol police response department, together with officers of the local police department, stopped a car “VAZ 21093”. While checking the documents and inspecting the vehicle, the police found in the car an object similar to a rifled carbine without markings. The weapon was in disassembled state”, – the report reads. 
As it turned out, the weapon was kept and transported by a 28-year-old passenger, a resident of Lazeshchyna. Policemen also seized ammunition from him. 
Criminal proceedings over this incident were opened under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
