Imprisonment for grass burning: the Cabinet will increase responsibility for ecosystem destruction

The Cabinet proposes to increase responsibility for burning of dry vegetation in ecosystems.

As the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal pointed out at the Cabinet meeting, the bill, which provides for increased penalties (administrative liability) and in some cases criminal liability, was sent to the Verkhovna Rada.

It should be noted that over the last day alone, about 30 cases of dry grass and shrub burning occurred in Transcarpathia. Sometimes, grass burning leads to dire consequences.

Thus, in Rakhiv region, a house burned down due to burning of dry grass. Also, due to burning of dry grass, a house burned down in Khust district.

In addition, recently, the highlight of Transcarpathia – Narcissus Valley – almost burned down due to the burning of grass.

Rescuers once again remind the Transcarpathians about the danger of dry grass burning.
