The search operation was carried out during January 9 by three groups in two directions: "Osa" railway station of Svalyava district – the gorge of the Velyky Verkh mountain; the Stiy mountain of Svalyava district – the abandoned buildings of the former military unit.
At 15:30, relatives of the lost skier informed the rescuers that he had made a telephone call to his friend and in a short conversation reported his likely location.
So, the rescuers carried out search operations in the specified area. In total, 39 rescuers and 7 units of equipment are involved in the search: mountain search and rescue units of the village of N.Vorota, the city of Mukachevo, the city of Rakhiv, the city of Uzhgorod, the town of Mizhhirya, and the special rapid response center of the city of Drohobych in Lviv region, as well as 6 volunteers.
As of 06:00, the lost tourist was not found, search operations continue.
