Officials of Uzhgorod City Council are suspected of abuse of office
Under the procedural control of the Prosecutor's Office in Transcarpathian region, two officials of the Uzhgorod City Council, who illegally granted to a private person 0.78 hectares of the public land (park), have been indicted.
It is a land plot at the corner of Mukachivska, Stantsiyna and Odeska streets in the city of Uzhgorod. The cost of land is more than UAH 350 thousand.
Thus, officials, by virtue of their official duties, were aware that the aforementioned land, in accordance with the Master Plan of the city ofUzhgorod of 2004, was a green space of general use and was registered as part of a park.
They illegally changed its intended purpose from "recreational" to "for the construction and maintenance of residential buildings, household buildings and structures."
At present, officials of the city council have been notified of being suspected of abuse of power and official position (Part 2 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and forgery (Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The further investigation is being carried out by the the Transcarpathian regional police. The procedural control over its course is being carried out by the relevant department of the prosecutor's office, the press service of the prosecutor's office in Transcarpathian region reported.
