Emergency situation with roads in Transcarpathia. Moskal asks the Cabinet of Ministers for help

Transcarpathia can not solve the problems with roads on its own

Recently, there have been real riots in Transcarpathia because of the disastrous state of the roads. In one of the villages, the residents started a rebellion and demand the resignation of the village head. And activists picketed the road company's office.

The roads are ruined almost everywhere, and the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal decided to write a letter to the Cabinet to explain the situation.

In Transcarpathia, almost one thousand kilometers of roads are roads of national importance. In fact, we have specific roads that run along rivers and mountainous terrain. There are 12 passes. Because of this, there are many bridges and other engineering structures on the roads, which also need to be maintained. The RSA officials determined that the repair and maintenance of our roads requires 4 billion hryvnias, and only 200 million is allocated in a year. Allocation of funds from the local budget for repair of state roads is a criminal offense. And the local budget is limited, because the so-called customs experiment, when some of the revenues from the customs was transferred to the special road fund, has ended.

The special commission on technological and emergency situations determined that the state of the roads in Transcarpathia can lead to emergency situations, therefore the regional authorities ask the Cabinet to immediately help with road repair.
