Transcarpathian customs officers found 229 Apple devices

An attempt to import goods exceeding the non-taxable amount and subject to restriction for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine was prevented at the customs post "Uzhgorod" of Transcarpathian Customs.

A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with Ukrainian registration arrived at the customs post "Uzhgorod". Our compatriot was returning from the Czech Republic, where he had been in private affairs.

The driver chose for customs control the "green corridor" lane, thus indicating that he was carrying objects that are not subject to compulsory written declaration or taxation with customs and other payments or fees and not subject to prohibitions or restrictions for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

In the course of customs control of the vehicle and the citizen's belongings, customs officers found 34 laptops Apple MacBook, 80 earphones Apple AirPods, 10 smart watches of Apple Watch Series 4, 105 mobile phones Apple Iphone X, Iphone XR, Iphone XS, Iphone XSmax, Iphone 8, Iphone 6s. The found items were in the luggage compartment of the vehicle among personal belongings. Access to it was not hindered.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine violated the established order of customs control in areas of the simplified customs control: he was moving goods that exceed the exemption rate for cross-border transportation and are subject to restriction on transportation across the customs border of Ukraine according to the law.

These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

The report on violation of customs rules was made, the book was seized until the court decision. The value of the goods is being established.
