Bill No. 1047 amends the Law of Ukraine “On Road Transport”. The law came into force on Wednesday, September 25th. Yesterday it was published in the "Holos Krayiny".
What does it mean?
Fine for 5-10% excess weight – five hundred non-taxable minimums, that is 8500 UAH.
Fine for 10-20% excess weight – one thousand non-taxable minimums, that is 17000 UAH. Source.
Fine for more than 20% excess weight – two thousand non-taxable minimums, that is 34000 UAH.
All proceeds from the increase in fines will go to the State Road Fund.
The changes provide for the introduction of Weigh-in-Motion systen – weighing vehicles in motion.
If drivers involved in the carriage of passengers or goods do not comply with the established safety rules, they will pay a fine of two hundred non-taxable minimums (3400 UAH). They can also be deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 to 6 months, – Channel 24 writes.
