Belarusian "Queen of Spades" was in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)
"Interlyalka 2019" International Puppet Theater Festival in Uzhgorod organized by the Transcarpathian Academic Puppet Theater with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and Uzhgorod City Council has finished.
It was a bright opening and closing on the central Teatralna Square with the participation of children and 5 - 6 performances a day. There were theaters from Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Lutsk, Rivne) and from abroad (Italy, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Georgia, Estonia). Transcarpathia at the festival was represented by the puppet theater "Bavka" from Uzhgorod, which showed Sergei Kozlov's play "Tryam! Hello!" directed by Natalia Oreshnikova.
The festival was also a competition, and a professional jury rated the performances in different nominations. This year the Grand Prix went to the theater from Belarussian Grodno for the performance “The Queen of Spades”. The winner in the Best Actress nomination was Ana Polurash for her role in the performance "Cinderella" by the theater "Stage of Elves" from Polish Warsaw. And Best Actor is Paolo Reka in the play "Arlequiniada" of the puppet theater "Bambambambin" from the Italian San Vittore. Paolo wrote in FB: "I'm happy. This is my first award at the festival." Natalia Denisova was awarded with the diploma of the winner in the nomination Best Visuals for her performance "Dreams of Andersen" by the travelling puppet theater from the Lithuanian city of Panevezys. Best Director is Georgy Chkhaidze for his performance "Miaguli" by Batumi State Puppet Theater from Georgian Batumi. And the Audience Choice Prize went to Ivan Hontko for "Don Juan or the Wasteful Son" (Puppet Theater "Theater" from Slovak Nitra).
