The organizers of the “private border” in Beregovo district will be tried

The prosecutor's office has brought to court the case of the "private border" in Beregovo district

"The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings has been completed and the indictment against the head of the regional department of the State Land Agency in Transcarpathian region under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been referred to court", - the post on the site of the GPU states.

The investigation found out that the official allowed the privatization of 52 hectares of the land within the frontier belt on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in Beregovo district.

The land was bought and consolidated by Atilla Horvat known in Beregovo district under the nickname "Doki". He ended up owning the entire frontier belt, which allowed him to smuggle large amounts of goods across the border.

Although the land worth 35 million hryvnias is the defense lands and cannot be owned by private persons. During the criminal proceedings, the illegal registration of property rights was canceled and the land was returned to the state.

It should be reminded that in November 2017, security forces conducted a large-scale special operation and detained the ex-head of the State Land Register in Beregovo district, as well as the owner of the "private border", Attila Horvat, but later released them.
