In Transcarpathian region, the Security Service of Ukraine blocked illegal migration to the EU

In Transcarpathian region, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the illegal migration of foreigners to the EU countries.

Special service operatives found out that two residents of the region had tried to illegally lead eleven citizens of a Central Asian country across the state border. The offenders planned to lead foreigners bypassing the checkpoints in the mountainous area.

Law enforcers arrested the two offenders and illegal migrants when they were trying to illegally cross the Ukrainian state border.

The organizers of the unlawful activities are charged with an offense as provided for in Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Urgent investigation measures are being taken.

The detention was conducted jointly with the border guards under the procedural control of the prosecutor's office.
