The memorial rally and laying of flowers to the monument to victims of political repressions took place in Uzhgorod, in the Heroes of Maidan park. The official events were attended by representatives of the authorities, in particular Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, members of the Transcarpathian Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Society of Political Prisoners and Repressed, and representatives of the public.

Ivan Korshynsky, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Society for Political Prisoners and Repressed, said in his speech that every year the number of fellows who returned from the Gulag camps is decreasing. Once there were 15 thousand of them, but today there are only 200. So, they commemorated those who passed away with a minute of silence.

The chamber choir "Credo" of the Uzhgorod City Leisure Center - House of Culture (director Yaroslav Kirlik) performed the anthem of Ukraine, song "Hey, my brother", "Prayer for Ukraine".
