Yesterday, border guards of the department "Uzhgorod" of the Chop detachment together with their Slovak colleagues prevented an attempt to illegally cross the border by a Turkish citizen.
Border guards of the "Onokivtsi" department were alerted about the movement of an unknown person towards the state border by the alarm system. Since the distance to the border was short, the border guards decided to immediately notify their Slovak colleagues. Thanks to this cooperation, the law enforcement officers of both countries managed to stop a citizen of Turkey who was trying to get to the European Union bypassing the checkpoints. He was detained a few dozens meters from the border. The alien had IDs on him.
After conducting filtration measures, the Slovak border guards plan to hand over the offender to the Ukrainian party according to the readmission procedure. After clarifying all the circumstances of the offense, he will be prosecuted for violation of the state border of Ukraine.
