Transcarpathian customs officers found double bottoms with cigarettes in two minibuses

Vehicles "VW T5" and "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter" driven by citizens of Ukraine arrived at the customs control zone of the customs post "Luzhanka" of the Transcarpathian Customs for "departure from Ukraine".

Both drivers chose for customs control the "green corridor" lane, thus indicating that they were carrying objects that are not subject to compulsory written declaration or taxation with customs and other payments or fees and not subject to prohibitions or restrictions for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

Based on analysis and risk assessment, the vehicles were taken out of the general queue for in-depth inspection. 

In the vehicle "VW T5", in a specially made cache, namely in the double floor, customs officers found 640 packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine. During the customs inspection of the vehicle "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter", 750 packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine were also found in the same specially made cache.

The estimated cost of vehicles is more than UAH 600 thousand.

At present, reports about violation of customs regulations are being drawn up. Preliminary classification – violation of customs rules provided for in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The vehicles and the cigarettes were seized until the final court decision.
