In Transcarpathia, police caught a group of people  that organized voter bribery scheme in favor of one of the candidates

Citizens were promised UAH 1,500 for one vote for a candidate for people's deputies of Ukraine. At the moment, authorized searches are being carried out at the places of residence of the people involved in the illegal activities.

As part of a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Art. 160 (bribery of voters) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, they documented a group of persons, who, through subordinate officials and representatives, organized a "scheme" for buying votes for one of the candidates for the deputies of Ukraine at the extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

During the procedural measures, officers of the Economic Crime Department of the National Police and the Main Investigation Department of the National Police found out that the abovementioned persons were forming the lists of citizens who agreed to cast their vote for a certain candidate in return for a monetary reward.

 Citizens were promised UAH 1,000-1,500 for voting for a certain candidate for the people's deputies. In order for voter to receive the reward after voting, they would have to photograph their ballot with a checkmark against the name of the right candidate and send the photo to the curator.

At present, law enforcement officers are conducting authorized searches at the places of residence of the persons involved in the organization of the voter bribery scheme.

Administrative and criminal liability is provided for violation of the electoral law. Candidates and individuals who agree to sell their votes for a particular candidate must understand that they will be prosecuted for their unlawful actions.
