Transcarpathia has the highest flu and ARVI incidence among Ukrainian regions

During the week, 209,493 people were infected with flu and ARVI. Two of them, including a child, died.

According to the MOH Center for Public Health, in comparison with the last week, the morbidity among adults has decreased by 3.6%, and among children under the age of 17, it has not changed; the general incidence rate is 544.2 per 100,000 people, which is 4.9% higher than the epidemic threshold for Ukraine.

The epidemic thresholds were exceeded in ten regions, in particular, in Transcarpathian region by 47.1%, Chernivtsi region by 46%, and Ivano-Frankivsk region by 89.9%.

In addition, during the reporting week, two fatal cases of flu were registered, including one child under 17 years old.

"Since the beginning of the epidemic season, the flu has taken lives of 32 Ukrainians, including five children aged under 17 years old. None of them was vaccinated against flu," – the statement reads.

During the reporting week, 465 people were vaccinated against flu, and since the beginning of the epidemic season – 160,885 people.
