The Carpathian bee was the subject of the international conference at the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

On Monday, February 11, the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference "Preservation and Reproduction of Carpathian Bees" was officially opened in the large hall of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

The event was attended by more than fifty hundred beekeepers from different corners of Ukraine and foreign countries, where the unique Carpathian bees are known and bred. Heads of industry unions and organizations were honorary guests.

Hennadiy Moskal greeted the participants of the event and presented to beekeepers, industry scientists, association leaders honorary letters and letters of gratitude for honest work, personal contribution to the development of beekeeping in the region and high professional skills.

Currently, there are 68.5 thousand bee families in the region, of which 67.4 thousand are in private farms and 1.1 thousand are in agricultural enterprises. The development of beekeeping in the region is mostly aimed at breeding, that is, the production and sale of queen bees and bee packages.

The President of the Beekeepers Union of Ukraine Volodymyr Stretovych noted the high level of beekeeping development in Transcarpathia, having emphasized the considerable prospects for breeding of Carpathian bees.

   

Along with the discussion of topical issues at the conference sections, a thematic exhibition was opened at the atrium of the Regional State Administration. There, visitors were able to see beekeeping products, equipment and clothes of beekeepers, educational literature, talk with industry specialists.

The international conference "Preservation and Reproduction of Carpathian Bees" will last until February 12. Among other things, there will be a tour of purebred apiaries in Transcarpathia for the participants.
