One of the five bears, that used to be kept in unsanitary conditions in Donetsk region, is being prepared for surgery. This was reported by the director of the National Park "Synevyr" Mykhailo Derbak to journalists of the UA: ZAKARPATTYA.
As we reported, on February 8, the animals were brought to the rehabilitation center "Synevyr" from a private zoo in Donetsk region. "We received them in bad shape. One bear has a broken jaw and needs a surgery, and two other bears are completely blind", – Mykhailo Derbak says.
According to the veterinarian of the rehabilitation center for brown bears at the National Park "Synevyr" Mykhailo Masliy, the delivered bears were very exhausted. Now, they are better. "All the necessary veterinary and sanitary measures, vaccinations, vitamin therapy are now being carried out. After that, the second stage begins. The animal is getting used to the electric fence in our center. After this, a special procedure starts: we hide food under the stone to make a bear look for, that is, to do what it normally does", – Mykhailo Masliy says.
