“The Wise Hare” and “Kormoska” have come to kids

Two books for children "Hungarian Folk Tales of Transcarpathia" compiled by UzhNU Professor Petro Lizanets and "The Wise Hare" by Mukachevo writer and journalist Margarita Medentsi were presented in the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

According to the Acting Director of the Information and Public Relation Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the books were published under the regional program to support publications of works by Transcarpathian authors. This means that the books will be available in all libraries of the region. The books were published by the All-Ukrainian State Publishing House "Karpaty", which will celebrate 75th anniversary in 2020.

The book "Hungarian Folk Tales of Transcarpathia" includes tales with humor: about kings, beautiful princesses, evil wizards (in particular, the fairy tale "Kormoska"). The illustrations are by Lajos Kondor, Angelina Turak, and Janos Reti.

"The Wise Hare" is a book of poems about natural phenomena, which is expertly illustrated by artist Olga Ladyzhets. Margarita Medentsi said that this is her 12th book and it is special for her because for the first time it was published under the program. It includes selected works written over 10 years. “I hope the kids will love it. Because that’s the main goal,” – she said.
