A program aimed at protecting homeless animals has been adopted in Mukachevo
The money will be distributed for maintenance of the animal shelter, sterilization and treatment.
The Mukachevo City Council has adopted a program aimed at reducing the number of stray animals and protecting them from ill-treatment in the territory of the Mukachevo united community. The program is designed for three years and will cost the city budget over UAH 5 million. The decision was made at the extraordinary session of Mukachevo city council on December 5.
The program provides for a number of measures to catch, treat and sterilize stray animals, ensuring compliance with the rules for dog and cat keeping in the Mukachevo City United Territorial Community, maintaining a shelter for animals, ensuring comfortable conditions for their stay, making spaces for animal walking, promoting humane treatment of them, and registering animals with subsequent adoption.
