The President of Ukraine granted state award to a native of Transcarpathia Sandor Rot (Alex Rovt)
On the occasion of Independence Day of Ukraine, the President Volodymyr Zelensky granted the Order of Yaroslav the Wise of the 4th degree to a native of Transcarpathia, well-known businessman and industrialist, Honorary Consul General of Ukraine in Hungary, Sándor Rot (Alex Rovt).
The President's website reads: "For a significant personal contribution to strengthening the international authority of Ukraine, the development of interstate cooperation, fruitful civic activity, I hereby award the Order of Yaroslav the Wise of the IV degree to Sandor Rot (Alex Rovt)."
Alex Rovt is a Ukrainian-American entrepreneur who owns large enterprises in the chemical industry. The billionaire, one of the richest people in the world according to the Forbes rating, was born in Mukachevo, studied in Lviv, moved to Hungary, then emigrated to the United States, where he set up a mineral fertilizer company and started a number of other businesses.
Alex Rovt has never broken contact with Ukraine and Transcarpathia in particular. Being one of the most influential businessmen in the world, he takes care of the international status of Ukraine, initiates and supports social and cultural projects for our country.
Alex Rovt is described by the Ukrainian media as one of the 5 contemporary Ukrainians whose names are known all over the world.
