The reconstruction of the track and field athletics section of the "Avangard" stadium began in August last year at the expense of the State Fund for Regional Development and local co-financing.
On Saturday, April 13, at 12.00, the renovated stadium will be solemnly opened by the leaders of the region and the city, prominent and young athletes. On the same day, the open championship of the region among the teams of youth sports achools, cities and districts will be held there.

The "Avangard" stadium in Uzhgorod has 10,000 spectator seats. The track and field athletics core is paved with polyurethane coating Conipur SW (Switzerland) – seamless sandwich system with a thickness of 14 mm for professional athletics track and universal sports grounds of the highest class. Conipur SW is the most popular system for stadiums in Europe.
The updated Uzhgorod arena will meet the requirements of the IAAF second category (subject to the provision of the CONIPUR SW track and field tracks pavement at the UzhNU stadium, located 200 meters from the main arena). The second category stadium will enable to host international competitions at the level of European championships.
