The wages in Transcarpathian region have began to increase

As reported at a press conference in Kyiv by the acting head of the State Employment Service Valeriy Yaroshenko, over the past year, the average salary in Transcarpathia has increased significantly, – Interfax-Ukraine reported.

V. Yaroshenko noted that "the highest salary is in Kyiv (the average is 11,643 UAH), followed by Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava regions – on average 7,400 UAH.

But for the last year, Transcarpathian region follows Odesa, Mykolaiv regions with the average salary of 6,700 hryvnias."

He also explained that Transcarpathian region borders to the European Union, "there are large migration processes and the outflow of manpower," "because of visa-free regime, people leave and search for decent wages abroad," "and the wages in Transcarpathian region have begun to increase because the employers want to keep skilled employees".

The head of the service stressed that low wages in many spheres is a big problem of labor migration.

"Today, nurses, doctors, caregivers have the lowest salaries – about 3,700 UAH, according to the State Statistics Service," – he said.
