Police detained a man who had killed his wife
Yesterday, January 25, Tyachiv police received a report from a medical officer about the death of a 52-year-old woman.
As the police found out, the woman died as a result of grave bodily injuries. During the investigation, law enforcement officers found out that the woman had been beaten by her husband. The 53-year-old resident of the village of Nyzhnya Apsha admitted that he was drunk that day and quarreled with his wife. In the course of the conflict, he beat her and left the house, and when he returned, he found the woman unconscious. The man then called his relatives, who called an ambulance.
The investigators of the Tyachiv police department opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional grave bodily harm that caused the death of the victim). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and stays in a temporary detention center. He will be notified of being suspected in the commission of a crime, and a pre-trial restraint will be imposed on him.
