The tragic death of the former rector of the Greek Catholic Church of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Teresva Fr. Vasyl Dovhanych in an accident near Zhytomyr became known on January 30.
According to the Zhytomyr media, the accident occurred today about 7 am on the 152nd km of the Kyiv-Chop highway, near the village of Ivanivka, Zhytomyr region. The car Skoda driven by the 39-year-old priest ran into a wheel barier.
"As a result of the crash, the driver and the passenger, who was sitting behind him, were fatally injured. Another two passengers left the car on their own," – the State Emergencies Service in Zhytomyr region informed.
Specialists are establshing the circumstances of the accident.
