The prosecutor’s office will look into possible abuse during the organization of the repair of Nezalezhnist embankment

Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office, following the check of numerous reports in the regional mass media, initiated a criminal proceeding over possible abuses during the organization of the repair of Nezalezhnist embankment in Uzhgorod. 

Currently, they are taking measures to establish the circumstances of criminal offenses and verify the claims about possible damage caused to Nezalezhnist embankment during the repairs and about theft of budget funds allocated for their performance. 

The preliminary legal classification in this criminal proceeding is defined in Part 1 of Art. 14 – Part 3 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – preparation for taking possession of funds with a prior conspiracy by a group of persons, and Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery). 

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding was entrusted to the investigating division of the Uzhgorod Police Department in Transcarpathian region under the procedural control of Uzhgorod Local Prosecutor’s Office.
