Is the amber smuggler arrested by Hungarians a deputy of Uzhgorod city council?
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine officially confirmed the smuggling of 52 kilograms of amber to Hungary.
Meanwhile, the name of the person detained by Hungarian border guards was revealed in the social networks. It is a deputy of Uzhgorod city council Oleksandr Borisenko - the site uzh-news reported.
On September 6, 2018, the regional mass media and social networks reported that the Hungarian border guards at the Kosyno-Barabash checkpoint detained a large batch of contraband amber from Ukraine - 52 kg. Also they arrested a Ukrainian, who was transporting the amber in a car Toyota Land Cruiser 200 with specially made caches.
Representatives of civic organizations released the letter of the Mukachevo border guard detachment, which confirmed the arrest of the contraband amber at the Hungarian customs.
The information on the arrest of amber in the amount of 52 kg was sent to the management of the Western Office of State Border Guard Service, representatives of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. Mukachevo border guard detachment has initiated internal investigation into the matter.
