Hungarian colors in the Uzhgorod castle at the “Bercsenyi-Fest” (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On Sunday, September 23, 2018, the holiday "Bercsenyi-Fest" will be held in the Uzhgorod castle.

The holiday was founded in 2017 by the public organization "Pro Cultura Subkarpathika", the Consulate General of the Republic of Hungary in the city of Uzhgorod and the Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum.

The purpose of the festival is to attract the attention of the Transcarpathians to the preservation and revival of folk traditions, crafts and customs of our region.

The guests of the festival will be greeted by the owners of the castle – Count Miklos Bercsenyi and his wife Krisztina Csaky.

In the courtyard of the Uzhgorod castle, craftsmen will show master classes on embroidery, making of original souvenirs, wood carving and pyrography, blacksmithing, drawing on glass, ceramics and fabric, weaving of ribbons of leather and fabric, making of baskets of corn leaves, cooking of traditional dishes, sweets and much more.

The participants of the festival will be entertained by soloists and groups from different parts of Transcarpathia. Visitors and guests of the museum and the holiday will be able to see the performance of Hungarian pop rock "Balkan Fanatik" and enjoy a fire show.

The beginning is at 16.00, the admission is free.

And at 20:00, the First Bercsenyi Charity Ball will begin, during which the guests will be able to help the orphanage of St. Michael family-type orphanage in the village of Rativtsi in Uzhgorod district.
