In the village of Bilky in Irshava district, school holidays will begin earlier due to measles

This decision was adopted at an extraordinary meeting of the Commission on Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergencies of the Irshava District State Administration.

During the meeting, they also talked about the measles morbidity in the district. According to the acting director of the Irshava district branch of the state institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" Marina Zhupanin, most of the patients are people under 17, that is, children of preschool and school age. In total, 38 people got sick, including three people aged 18-64, the main cause of the disease is the absence of vaccination against measles.

The head of the Department of Education of the District State Administration Yelizaveta Yatskanych said that because of the illness parents are afraid to send children to school and suggested to start the holidays in Bilky village secondary school (where the number of patients with measles is 22) a week earlier, on October 22.

Having heard and discussed the information, the commission decided to approve the plan of measures for containing and elimination of measles in Irshava district in 2018. The Department of Education of the District State Administration shall move the holidays in Bilky village secondary school a week earlier, starting October 22, 2018.
