Illegal migrants from Ghana and Bangladesh were detained in Transcarpathia

In the evening of October 17, border guards of the Chop detachment together with the operatives of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service and the National Police detained two groups of illegal migrants and their trafficker.

During the activities under a criminal proceeding, on the outskirts of the village of Knyahynya, they found a car with four citizens of Bangladesh. Along with the foreigners, they detained our compatriot, who tried to illegally carry them from Ukraine to Slovakia.

In the course of further search activities, law enforcement officers detained two other illegal migrants, citizens of Ghana. They were found near the village of Domashyn in Velyky Berezny district. As the foreigners explained later, they had been taken there by a car and shown the direction to the border.

At present, measures are being taken to find other persons involved in the trafficking of illegal migrants. After identification of the detainees, they will be prosecuted for attempting to illegally cross the state border, - the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informs.
