Transcarpathian Andriy Bokotey, or “Exhibition of one composition”

On the occasion of the anniversary, the maestro invites to the exhibition of one composition, which will be presented in the halls of the National Museum in Lviv.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the first Professor Andriy Bokotey Prize for young glass artists was also founded. The awarding of the winners will be held at the opening of the exhibition in the National Museum in Lviv.

The winner of the First Prize will have the opportunity to take part in the 2nd International Conference of Glass Artists in the city of Ningbo, PRC. The winners of the 2nd and 3rd prizes will receive cash rewards of 20,000 UAH and 10,000 UAH respectively. The competitive works of all three winners will be exhibited in the Glass Museum in Ningbo, PRC.

Andriy Bokotey was born in 1938 in the village of Brid in Transcarpathia. In 1965, he graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, the Department of Ceramics. Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2000), Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Award of Ukraine (2002), People’s Artist of Ukraine (2007), Honored Artist of Ukraine (1989), Professor (1996).

Awards: 1989 – Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR; 2009 – Cavalier Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland; 2013 – Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the V degree (2013), Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the IV degree (2016).
