Bishop Milan will conduct a tour on the basement floor of the episcopal residence (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On Thursday, March 22, at 15.00, Uzhgorod residents for the first time will be able to see the basement room of the episcopal residence. Until recently, it was used by the scientific library of Uzhgorod National University. For several years, the books were being transported to a new, much more suitable premises. Finally, this lengthy process is finished, and the episcopal residence has been transferred to the legitimate owner - the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese. 

On this occasion, on Thursday, Bishop Milan will hold a guided tour on the basement floor, where the diocese museum will be opened in the future. During the repair, which has already begun, a real sensation was discovered - kitchen of the Jesuits, the oldest owners of the building. Also, visitors will be able to see the department of the ancient printed books of the scientific library of UzhNU, which remains in the episcopal residence.

And at 16.00, there will be the presentation of the research work by art critic Odarka Sopko (Dolgosh) "The manuscripts of Ivan Yugasevich at the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries" on one of the first Transcarpathian artists and folklorists.
