Today, in the kindergarten №29 "Dyvosvit", there was the solemn opening of a sensory room, which was attended by the Uzhgorod Mayor Bogdan Andriyiv, the acting head of Education Department Marina Pukovska, the Consul of the Consulate General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod, Daniel Caban, the head of the NGO "Carpathian Human Rights Agency "VESTED" Mykola Yatskov, and heads of other Uzhgorod kindergartens. The room was presented by Olga Chavarga, the head of the kindergarten.
The sensory room in this kindergarten was created within the framework of the project "Open Sensory Space for Uzhgorod Children", with the support of the Government of Slovakia, the Slovak Agency for International Development and Cooperation.
Uzhgorod city council financed the work on the current repairs at more than 196 thousand hryvnia. The remaining equipment at 113.5 thousand hryvnias was donated to the establishment by the public association "Carpathian Human Rights Agency "VESTED": namely, the equipment for development of fine motor skills, tactile paths, colored river pebbles, labyrinth, dry pool with balls and so on.
Bohdan Andriyiv stressed that this is the first such room, but the city authorities are set to have such sensory spaces in every kindergarten in Uzhgorod. He thanked the Slovak government for their support, singled out the public activist Mykola Yatskov, thanks to whom such projects have been implemented in the educational institutions of our city. For example, in 2016, kindergartens received professional kitchen equipment purchased at the expense of the government of Japan.
To note. The environment in the sensory room is organized in a special way, it consists of a large number of stimulants that affect the organs of vision, hearing, smell, tactile and vestibular analyzers. That’s how the development of senses is ensured. Thus, the sensory room helps to preserve and improve the physical, mental and social health of children.
