The XIX All-Ukrainian V. Herey fencing tournament will be held in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On 10-11 of May, the XIX Nationwide fencing tournament among Carpathian Euroregion countries in memory of honored coach of Ukraine Vasyl Herey will be held in the sports complex "Yunist" in Uzhgorod (Zankovetska st., 5. Hall №1).

On May 9, the official arrival of teams will take place. During two days, boys and girls born in 2002 and younger will be fencing with epees and foils. Epee fencers will be competing on May 10, and foil fencers - on May 11. The begining of the competition is at 10.00.

According to one of the co-organizers of the tournament Mykhailo Pantyo (Chairman of the Fencing Federation of Transcarpathia), about 200 participants, the best in their age categories have already confirmed their participation. In addition, the competition is open, and athletes from Slovakia, Poland and Hungary are expected to participate.

On May 10, at 12.00, the competition will officially open in the Great Hall of the "Yunist".

On May 10 and 11, the XVII International tournament in memory of Vasyl Herey will be held in Uzhgorod SC "Yunist". This is a rating tournament, the participants will receive the necessary extra points in the standings, based on which the cadet national team of Ukraine will be formed. We invite parents, children, fans of this sports, everybody. Come, the admission is free," - Mykhailo Pantyo said.
