A Ukrainian citizen tried to carry across the border two violins with bows in a car "HYUNDAI COUPE" with Czech registration.

The woman chose the "green corridor" for passing the customs control, thus declaring absence of items prohibited or restricted for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine. However, during a customs inspection of the vehicle, customs officers found two musical instruments that may have been made 50 or more years ago.

Thus, the citizen violated the procedure for passing customs control in the simplified customs control zones, which restricts transportation of cultural property across the customs border of Ukraine, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Export, Import and Return of Cultural Property" and the Instruction of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine No 258 of 22.04.2002 "On approval of the Instruction on the procedure for registration of the right to export, temporary export of cultural property and control of its movement across the state border of Ukraine".

A report on violation of the customs rules under Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was drawn up against the offender. The violins were seized until court decision.
