Young resident of Khust, who killed his biological father, faces a long imprisonment

The Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region approved and sent to court the indictment in a criminal proceeding against an 18-year-old resident of the city of Khust, Transcarpathian region (at the time of the crime, the suspect was 17 years) for the murder of his biological father,   the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region informed. 

Four months before the murder, according to the court’s decision, the deceased was deprived of parental rights for the suspect and his two other children, in particular because of violence against them. 

During the pre-trial investigation, it was found out that in November 2017, the young man, during a quarrel with the deceased, knocked him down and strangled him with a metal wire. 

Trying to conceal the crime, he threw the body into the well in the yard of the house, and the next day threw some stones on top. 

The suspect is charged with a crime under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – murder.   

For committing this crime, the young man faces punishment in the form of 7 to 15 years imprisonment.
