Transcarpathians and Czechs were looking for common pages of history and present in the Silver Land
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine is visiting Transcarpathia, the RSA press service reported. Today, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Radek Matula discussed common pages of history and the current development of relations. The diplomat came to Transcarpathia to participate in the opening of the Czech House in Uzhgorod, meet with the Czech community of Transcarpathia and get acquainted with the leaders of the region and the regional center, therefore the Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv also joined the meeting. The parties discussed the economic situation in Ukraine and Transcarpathia, remembered the common years in history, in particular the contribution of the Czechs to the development of Uzhgorod and the region at the beginning of the 20th century. According to H. Moskal, Transcarpathians consider the "Czechoslovak" period in the history of the region to be the most humane and democratic. He also thanked for the implementation of current joint projects in Transcarpathia, in particular, the opening of the Czech House in Uzhgorod, which will be held tomorrow. Radek Matula, in turn, said that he wanted to expand Transcarpathia's partner cooperation with the regions of the Czech Republic and would make every effort within his authority to achieve this goal.
