Peter Szijjarto: "You have a war, but leave Hungarians alone..."
Ukrainians should not justify the violation of the rights of Ukrainian Hungarians with Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto said in an interview with the TV channel "1+1".
"You have a war, but leave Hungarians alone. I think it's very bad that you accuse Hungarians, or insult Hungarians because you have a war with Russia," - he said.
Szijjarto was also surprised by Kyiv's concerns about possible separatist sentiment in Transcarpathia. True, as previously stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, one hundred thousand residents of the region have Hungarian passports.
Also, the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that his country supported the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Minister reminded that Budapest supported granting Ukraine a visa-free regime with the European Union.
