Mykola Bratasiuk from Uzhgorod won at the Open World Shidokan Karate Championship (PHOTO-REPORT)

The main city of Transcarpathia hosted an extraordinary sporting event. The Open World Shidokan Karate Championship took place in Uzhgorod.

On Saturday, June 9, the participants were competing in the following sections: Knocdown Karate, Shidokan Gloves, Thriatlon and Kata.

Dynamics and strength! Athletes from 16 countries took part in the competition: Japan, the USA, Australia, Kuwait, Chile, Mongolia, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, France, Belgium, Armenia, Georgia and, of course, Ukraine. Interestingly, most participants were in the children’s category: only 70 of 270 athletes were adults.

The honorable guest of the tournament was Kancho Yoshidji Soeno, the founder of the Shidokan Karate.

It is even more honorable that some high awards of the Championship remain in Uzhgorod. Thus, our famous athlete Mykola Bratasiuk won the champion title in his category. The Uzhgorod athlete already holds the title of European Shidokan Karate Champion of 2017 and the 2016 World Champion, and once again confirmed the status of the strongest man in this sport. Congratulations to the athlete!
