An attempt of our compatriot to transport narcotic substance from Ukraine to Slovakia was prevented yesterday by border guards together with officers of the National Police and the SFS, the press service of the Chop border guard detachments reported. Border guards received the information about a possible attempt to move drugs through the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" from the National Police investigators. The offender was arrested in a bus "Uzhgorod-Presov". During the inspection, law enforcement officers found on the body of a 20-year-old resident of Vinnytsia three polyethylene bags with a gray-green substance visually similar to marijuana. The man tried to hide the drugs under the garment using a bandage. The total weight of the narcotic substance was two and a half kilograms.
An investigation team, criminologists and forensic experts were called at the scene. Following the urgent procedural measures, the detainee left the checkpoint escorted by officers of the National Police.
