Transcarpathian foresters learned the experience of forest protection from fires from their colleagues from Turkey

Ukrainian foresters recently made a trip to Turkey. During five days, representatives of Ukrainian forestry, including a forester of Bohdan Forestry Mykola Hrapnyuk and the leading forestry engineer Mykhailo Loferdyuk, were learning about the forestry management in Turkey.

The purpose of the visit was to study the comprehensive system of forest fire protection and the necessary response to fire in ecosystems.

According to Transcarpathian foresters, Turkish colleagues have a very well organized system of fire protection in the conditions of high temperature regime and constant winds. Foresters have sufficient state funding, modern equipment, aircrafts. The management in this area is carried out in accordance with the latest developments and solutions. Therefore, there was a lot to learn from them. Also, Turkish foresters taught us to always make informed decisions in emergencies, never rush, develop a strategy and several options that will prevent the spread of forest fires and mitigate their consequences.
