A citizen of Serbia tried not to export, but to import a large batch of cigarettes through the checkpoint “Tisa”

Today, employees of the operational department of the SFS, together with officers of the Transcarpathian customs and the Chop border guard detachment detained a large batch of contraband cigarettes, the press service of the SFS reported.

At the customs post "Tisa", a truck Volvo with a semi-trailer driven by a citizen of Serbia was detained.

In the shipping documents, it was stated that he was importing into the customs territory of Ukraine tobacco products intended for sale at the duty-free store located at the checkpoint "Platonovo" in Odesa region.

During the inspection of the truck, they found in the trailer foreign tobacco products without excise stamps of Ukraine and without labels "For duty free only" in total amount of 307,000 packs, namely: "Ashima", "Marblet" and "Strand".

The cigarettes with an approximate value of UAH 8 million, as well as the vehicle with estimated value of UAH 500 thousand were seized.
