Young fencers were competing in Uzhhorod at the New Year's tournament (PHOTO-REPORT)
For two days, an international New Year fencing tournament will be taking place in the SC "Dynamo" in Uzhgorod. The fencing competitions will bring together athletes from Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine.
This event has been held in Transcarpathia for more than 10 years.
On the first day, in the youngest girls' category (born in 2009 and younger), the winner was Polina Vasilchenko, Yulia Holych finished the second, and Ksenia Vasilchenko and Yulia Anurova shared bronze awards. Maximilian Fedlesh won gold medal among the boys born in 2009 and younger, Damir Onipko (Mukachevo) finished on the second place, Mark Sharkezi and Mykola Humen - on the third place.
In the category of girls born in 2007-2008, the champion of the tournament was Daria Kurta, Daria Segediy won silver awards, Katerina Petrus and Victoria Milyavska (Lviv) won the bronze awards. Myron Durnevych won gold medal in the category of boys born in 2007-2008, Maxim Krivonos won silver, Kyrylo Lazarenko and Maxim Prylypka won bronze medals.
Anastasia Holych won gold medal among the girls born in 2005-2006, defeating in the final Sophia Stepankiv (Lviv), who finished second. Kateryna Petrus and Victoria Milyavska (Lviv) shared the third place. Anton Goretsky became the champion among boys born in 2005-2006, Maxim Rusin won silver medal, Kyrylo Lypkanych and Stanislav Prysyazhny won bronze awards.
All participants of the tournament were awarded with sweet gifts, prizes, and the champions received medals and Cups. Traditionally, this year's debutants of fencing competitions were also awarded.
