"School of friendship": Moskal proposes to create a Ukrainian-Hungarian educational institution in Beregovo
Hennadiy Moskal and Lyubov Nepop condemned the anti-Hungarian provocations and discussed the joint Ukrainian-Hungarian projects in Transcarpathia
This is stated on the site of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.
On Monday, December 17, Hennadiy Moskal met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Hungary, Lyubov Nepop.
"Our main task here is to ensure peace and friendly relations both at the level of citizens and in the context of cross-border cooperation with neighboring Hungary. Under the influence of Russian special services and some local political forces in Transcarpathia, there have been provocative actions that pursued the goal of driving a wedge between friendly Ukrainian and Hungarian communities. But, firstly, these provocations did not find support among the local population, and secondly, law enforcement agencies have already found the people involved in the crimes in question. The court will determine their punishment," - Moskal said.
Lyubov Nepop noted that it is also important to intensify bilateral communication so that Budapest know about the progress of the high-profile cases and the success of the investigation. She asked about the priority projects that could be implemented jointly by the Hungarian and Ukrainian parties in Transcarpathia.
Moskal noted that the construction of a hospital in Beregovo and the opening of a Ukrainian-Hungarian school there would be such successful projects. Near the hospital, there is a large building of the Russian school that is not in demand in the region. However, the premises are fully adapted for the educational process, the territory is well maintained. Children from both Ukrainian and Hungarian families could study in this school. It would be a kind of school of friendship, - Moskal said.
It is possible that the first ladies of the two states could take the implementation of these projects under their patronage. Also, the Ukrainian diplomat told about the prospect of opening an official office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Uzhgorod and asked the head of the regional state administration to support the newly appointed Ambassador for special assignments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Baltazhy. The latter will be in charge of cross-border cooperation.
